Observation Dome

Wheeze of the week, mate!

Yes. It was an April Fool. Ha Ha. Many thanks to all of you gullible people out there we fooled, and a holiday to the diesel decks with Rimmer for those of you who guessed straight away and spoiled our fun.

However, if there are any small vis fx units out there who want to drop us a line... :)

What you may not (and appear not to) have noticed is that Seb's VII Xtended post was also an April Fool. We felt it would be a red herring so you believed that was the April Fool, and not the movie one, but you all fell for that one instead. So it really is April, May, June, July AND August fool for that one :)

Anyhow, OD is a team operation, and so whilst I wrote the movie posts and put them on here, I actually did nothing else towards it...

So, many thanks to Seb and Cappsy for coming up with the initial idea and Seb for providing the images, and to Austin and once again Cappsy and Seb for providing the fake script, and lastly to Tanya for providing a page that we couldn't get on due to technical difficulties. But which is now here.

I'll republish the Movie Fools pages later on this evening so that those of you who didn't get to read some excellent FanFic (and I HATE FanFic normally) can do so.

And I'd just like to explain Broken Pipe. Well, it's a leak, innit?

You ought to provide Tanya's, as well, when you repost. It really was quite good.

The Xtended thing was actually plausible. But a leaked script that retread Stasis Leak? Pity it wasn't real because maybe it could have been filmed with a video camera! At least we would have the movie then.

I hope the Movie does end up having the scenes on Mimas.....what am I talking about, it isn't even gonna get made I'm just kidding myself! And if you think that's a negative attitude well...it is.

I think the script ideas that came about were excellent. I was really amazed that they read so well - not of any discredit to any of the team of course, but because I would have failed miserably to do the same thing, and I generally hate FanFic.

FWIW, I still think the movie will be made.

Anyhow, I hope you at least enjoyed our efforts, if nothing else.

I was actually suprised how much fun it was writing that one page of fanfic. I'm drawing the line there, though!

You are an utter CUNT. Do you realise how many people spend most waking minutes thinking about red dwarf. Fair enough, april fools jokes are funny. But me telling my dad that I'll be getting hold of the script to read to him. (He's not going to be around for the film, we've been told he he's going to make the next few months at the most) is not funny. I have NO idea what I'm going to tell him now after I told him I'd be able to read it to him. I do hope you enjoyed your joke..

On the other hand, think a bit harder round April Fools Day.

Sorry about your situation, but I can't help that at all. You could have been equally excited about drinking Google Gulp!, Steve Jobs new list of products at IKEA, or Wikipedia being taken over by Brittanica.

But there we go, these things happen.

Oh, and if you spend most waking minutes thinking about Dwarf - get a life.

Again, I sympathise with your situation, but don't take it out on a bunch of lads you've never met who are having a light-hearted and blatant joke, cuntchops.

Besides, if he lived to 100, he wouldn't be around to see the movie...

"Do you realise how many people spend most waking minutes thinking about red dwarf."

Hello!

I'll echo what Flib and Symes have said, though. It was an April Fool and was done with no intention to put you, or anyone else, in this sort of position.

By Cappsy on 02-04-05 @ 12:29

I personally knew it was April Fooling, but I was really, really hoping that somehow, maybe it wasn't.

PS--I had a dream last night that Doug revealed they'd been making the movie in secret and he released a 45 second preview. a-and it was good!

Which means you actually did interfere with the workings of my brain. Fucks.

Haha, aww. It never feels good to be tricked or decieved, but hey, you can't beat a good wheeze, eh? Take the Red Dwarf philosophy, man, it's alright. Tell your dad that YOU were kidding and you April Fooled HIM! That'd be a good jape, yeah?

Sorry for the troubles though. Hope it can all be in good laughs.

Good writing for those of you who wrote it though, even though I knew it was a joke, it made me excited to read SOMETHING new about Red Dwarf.
